Where do you keep your books?!
Updated: Jul 26, 2021
Between the toys, crafts, dishes, everyday clutter, oh...and more toys 🙃, I thought it was a good idea to keep all the books in one spot. Tucked away in the kids rooms. This was the perfect spot for them. Right in arms reach, ready to read at bedtime!

I don't know about you, but the older the kids get, the longer these books get, and the less we feel like reading at bedtime. Bedtime and naptime is such a struggle and sometimes turns into a long drawn out process with our son Captain Stallsworth. We were exhausted at bedtime and only choosing short reads. We needed a new plan.
We decided those books need to be OUT with the toys, and the dishes, and the everyday clutter! They need to be "advertised" to our kids in places they spend the most time! Not just at bedtime or naptime when kids will pretty much do anything other than go to sleep lol. They deserve to be enjoyed, explored, not just a last resort! Otherwise out of sight, out of mind and TV takes over.
So Grab some cute baskets, throw some books inside and put them around your house. I guarantee your kids will be reading more!
Here are a few ideas:
🚗In the car for quick or long drives. Especially any books you have on CD.
🍽 In the kitchen keep your activity books where they can work at the counter or kitchen table.
🪑 In the living room by the couch or a comfy chair is a great spot for books that teach life lessons, mindfulness, or lend themselves to good discussions.
🚽 In the Bathroom.
🛏 And of course, in the kids rooms ready to read at bedtime!
Let them be messy. Let them be scattered. LET THEM BE READ!

Our basket in the kitchen includes things the kids use when working at the counter like the Learning Palette, wipe clean books, 100 Paper Airplanes to Fold and Fly, Sticker Books, cook books and Magic painting books.

Books in the play room/living room where toys are stored and kids spend the most time!

Messy bookshelf in my son's bedroom! Hey he is using it and reading, so I'm not complaining!

Books are stored in the bathroom cabinet for all those potty breaks and belly aches.
🏡Which space in your home will you be adding more books?!📚
